Mt. Everest base camp trekking with combination of Gokyo valley is a longer and more adventurous trek than the classic Lukla to Everest Base camp trek. This takes you first to the Lakes at Gokyo, where you get possibly the best views of the South West face of Everest, as well as a view of Cho Oyu (8153m). The adventure really starts as the trek crosses the high and remote Cho La, before descending to Lobuche and up to Everest Base camp for close up views of Everest.
Khumbu is one of the well acknowledged in the world as a land of the World’s tallest Mount Everest and the native place of Sherpa people; which is situated in the northeast in map of Nepal. Lukla, the entry door of Khumbu is reached by a flight from Kathmandu in twin otter aircraft. Only few hours trekking from highland of Lukla arrived to the entry point of Sangarmatha National Park and Namche Bazaar – capital city and commercial center of Khumbu valley. Continue the journey to Gokyo Valley and hiking up the Gokyo Ri (5.400m), offers beautiful view of Cho – Oyu, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and top of Mt. Makalu. Then drops down to Phortse and again hike up to Gorap Shep is final camp of this trekking and in dawn hiking up to Kala Pattar (5.616 m), viewing Mt. Everest, rounded with other giants, Nupse, Lhotse and other snowy mountains. And return through Tyangboche Monastery, situated below on the shadow of Ama Doblam (6.921 m), Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.
